The NSRC is hosting two Town Hall meetings to talk about changes to our scope of Practice. Please listen about the process and what you can do to help, said Heather Nichols, president.
Meeting times are
Much of the wording in regards to respiratory services is outdated, and the scope of respiratory practice has not been updated since 1986, which could lead to respiratory therapists not being utilized to the full extent within their scope of practice, Nichols said. With that, the Nebraska Society for Respiratory Care has applied for a 407 to update the definition of respiratory care and current practices.
Elections to the Nebraska Society for Respiratory Care Board of Directors are approaching quickly.
"We are always looking for those therapists who would like to be progressive and become involved in the future of our profession," said Dave Patterson, Elections Chairman. "The commitment is not as strenuous as in the past. All BOD quarterly meetings can be attended via webinar or phone, so travel is no longer an issue."
The NSRC currently has BOD members and committee members from across the state. These board positions are open for election this year:
