Consider running for NSRC board

Elections to the Nebraska Society for Respiratory Care Board of  Directors are approaching quickly.

"We are always looking for those therapists who would like to be progressive and become involved in the future of our profession," said Dave Patterson, Elections Chairman. "The commitment is not as strenuous as in the past. All BOD quarterly meetings can be attended via webinar or phone, so travel is no longer an issue."

AARC virtual lobby campaign runs through April 30

AARC virtual lobby 2021

The AARC's Virtual Lobby Campaign for respiratory therapists is under way, and continues through April 30. The AARC is asking members to contact their Congressional representatives in support of two important pieces of legisation.

The CONNECT (Creating Opportunities Now for Necessary and Effective Care Technologies) for Health Act includes provisions to permanently expand access to telehealth. "Specifically, it promotes increased access to telehealth services by health care professionals, such as respiratory therapists (RTs), who are not currently described as eligible practitioners in the Medicare program’s telehealth benefit, as part of new payment models being tested by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Innovation Center," according to the AARC.

2021 state conference to move to fall

In light of the ongoing pandemic, the NSRC is moving its annual spring conference for 2021 to fall this year. It will be an in-person conference, with the option to attend virtually.

"This decision was based on the feedback we received from a poll on Facebook," said Jill Sands, NSRC President. "We appreciate everyone’s input."
